I guess I shouldn't have said "movie" mode, but IFO mode. In DVD Decrypter the default mode is IFO. So you have used File mode successfully in DVD to KVCD conversion?

Can you use 'file mode' rather than 'movie mode' in ripping?

I usually use DVD Decrypter or sometimes SmartRipper to rip my DVD's for conversion to KVCD. But I have a DVD that won't play properly because of some scratches I think, and I can't get it to finish...
