why does video Encoding take up all my cpu usage?

when i demux a film using dvd2avi, or when i usually convert a mpa to wav file using winamp or whatever, why does it take up all my cpu usage, it jumps all the way to 100% usually over and as a rsult...

when you check thngs with vdub mp3 freeze and it comes out as no bad frames, shouldn't everything be aiight then, ive checked two movies with that for the day and i ve come out with bad frames, can...

when i look at the file size in the folder, it says 708,494 kb, but when i loaded it into nero, it was less than 700kb, thats why it didn't ask me if i wanted to overburn it..holla back, the vcd...

VirtualDub: Mpeg import filter - pack synchronization error

when ever i load a certain type of file i guess it tells me "Mpeg import filter - pack synchronization error"...can anyone tell me what this is, and how i can get around it.

yup, this is also happening with my other avi's...

yup, this is also happening with my other avi's as well....i have the codec installed, if i go to add/remove programs, the prog is there, i dunno why this is happening...should i just reinstall all...

acm mp3 codec problem

im having trouble playing my extracted wav files in wiamp, it told me to get an mp3 acm codec,...i did that and it till isn't working..im using virtual dub to extract my sound, and ive use avi2wav...

now adding to the list of my problems again....when i extract the wav from my vids..cant play them on winamp...it says the file is equal to "0" even though it shows a file size and its also asking me...

TMPGEnc: picture stuck to one scene, freezing video frames

i have all my codecs installed, cause im able to watch all the movies and advance them while watching them, but when i encoded a certain movie, its like it started thenthe sound continued to play...
