Watching the KVCD compatability image, I can only view the 352x240 resoution on my Philips 724. The others (352x480, 524x480) do not work. The 352x480 gives choppy audio and video, the 524x480...

Your AVS script will give you great quality at decent file sizes. You'll need Avisynth (2.08 or 2.52) installed. Always be sure to open up your AVS script in VirtualDub or WMP to make sure it plays...

It's hard to say b/c there are so many different players out there. My player, Philips 724, only likes 352x240 in MPEG1 mode.

If you have access to the types of players you will be playing them...

If you have an MPEG1 source, and you need to convert 23.976 to 29.97 for better compatability on your standalone, I haven't seen a good solution...

MVCD is a complete RIP-OFF of the KVCD technology, and they wouldn't even admit to it. Their matrix is EXACTLY the same as the one Kwag came up with. Kwag has several forum posts detailing this.

I assume you could do the same thing in BBMPEG by setting the 'Program Stream Type' to 'SVCD' and then muxing. Then burn in Nero as SVCD, non-compliant.
