Oh my god all because of (one tick in a box) in the process of encoding the audio in headac3he I was selecting the audio output to 44.1khz or I thought I was.

I have also now encoded the audio at 48khz which again has made no difference................how come it plays in sync on Power DVD Media player but not when burnt to disc????

I will try vcd easy...
