I expressed myself a bit unclear. I'm talking about a ~90min film (and 800MB CD)
I'll see if I can find my scripts during the weekend, but as I said;

@Fluffbutt: If you can, avoid minrate and use kwag's noise trick instead.
This way you can increase maxrate to 2500 and use the bitrate calculators to find out avgerage_rate to (perfectly) fit one...

@Prodater64: I think it might, though I'm not sure. I encode under linux with my self-compiled encoder.

@Dialhot: No, I know. This was a ~150min 2CD encoding, and since I have to use minrate=700 I...

Well, I've been using scripts and info from these forums mainly. And perhaps I haven't tried so hard with mpeg2 since I'm satisfied with mpeg1.
But shouldn't quality be (theoretically) better in...

I've made a number of KVCD/MPEG1 CD's with mencode and I don't find it so bad.
Lots of music DVD's are 4/3 and if I try to fit them in one or two CD's using
KSVCD/MPG2 I get lots of blocks,...

Nope, the borders are added after encoding. I'm not even sure the
borders are a part of the mpg; they're probably just a flag telling the
player "add some black here".
And noise should be...

Shouldn't the order be crop,scale,expand ?

The mplayer documentation mention that some filters, like deinterlacing,
should take place "after cropping and before scaling"...

Hej buller.
As for the "Can not enumerate..." warning; you have to run MEncoderme from the directory it's unpacked to. I.e. "./MEncodeme" as opposed to "/usr/local/bin/whatever/MEncodeme"

I guess...

@ sertinell
You have to provide more info, just saying "It doesn't work" doesn't give us any clue to what's wrong.
What happens? Doesn't it start? Does it crash midways? Any error messages? Which...

I think it can be somewhat tricky to compile mencoder with mp3 support in Windows. Remember, MPlayer/Mencoder are originally written for *nix and under those OS:es normally links to the "lame"...

I'm running 0.2 on MDK 9.2 on a PII-400MHz as a normal user w/o any problems (other than slowness :)

I have libgtk+1.2-1.2.10-37mdk and my own compiled mencoder dev-CVS-040406

Woldn't it be wiser to use max=min? That way it shouldn't matter what clip you try.
BTW, Pioneer DV-444 seems to dislike bitrates lower than ~700-800.

VirtualVCR capturing 360x270 w/o interlace

I've been using VirtualVCR to capture TV through my Geforce MX460 and I've noticed a strange thing:
When I use 360x270 I don't get an interlaced avi (Great!).
I'd like to achieve the same at a...

640x272 -> 4:3 letterboxed SVCD

Hi and thanx for a great script.

From what I...
