More questions on AC3 delay and ripping

I've been reading the threads below on AC3 delay (as extracted by DVD2AVI) with interest.

I'm converting a section of a concert DVD to XviD with the original 5.1-channel AC3 audio. The AC3 file...

Did a 90-sec sample of a TV show from AVI in two passes. Quality was okay, but I didn't apply any filters at all. I wasn't sure where to set the bitrates, so I used 1500/2500.

All in all, I'm...

Howdy,

Can anyone clue me in on how to use the KVCD notch matrix in QuEnc? I just downloaded v0.53, and it worked great for a short sample MPEG2 for standard SVCD (but it was 50 MB).

I've...

Thanks for the above advice. I'll definitely be taking a look at the "Grip" filters thread. I actually had glanced in there before, but I saw that it concerned the "GripFit" filter so I thought...

I think what is confusing me is that when using a script with TMPGEnc, there is a sort of "doubling" of AR specification. For example, I have an XviD movie that's 640*480 (nice 1.33 AR). If I...

Yes, I've found that I have one stubborn player (Apex) that seems to want to only play at fairly standard resolutions. Indeed, the resolution I use seems to be the most important factor in whether...

KVCD/KSVCD: A standard for encode-mux-author ?

After successfully making a few VCD/SVCD's with "K" standards, I'm wondering if there is some consensus on some things ....

In the world of "ordinary" VCDs and SVCDs, those two formats, obviously...

Thanks. I will of course try them both.

I note that in the case of the scripts, they are supposed to be for "clean" or DVD material. I want to convert some AVIs, so I'm wondering if those...

I think I've tried that ... or rather it's opposite: I authored MPEG2 as noncompliant VCD in VCDEasy (using the same MPEG2 file that worked just fine authored as noncompliant SVCD), but it didn't...
