Video colors are all washed, the picture has TV grainyness?

okay, I've just started making kvcd backups of my dvds for roadtrips. Here is the process I go through.

1. Rip the VOBs with SmartRipper.
2. Make a project file with DVD2Avi.
Run the project...

Just wondering if anybody has heard anything about when the release of this wonderful program will be. I know muadib is workin hard to make it right and like just about everybody else I can't wait...
