ok, the card is hauppauge 878 vfw and the prog is in the title vhelp dscaler. Dscaler doesn't say what mode its capturing in but it might be 15bit rgb,(the same as in vdub) I have captured in vdub...

this is before I process to mpg, also how do I alter the height? I know I can specify the width but the height is locked 288 I have looked in the ini file and cannot find anyway of changing it.

DScaler and capturing

how come when I use dscaler to capture and then play the captured file full screen the quality drops considerably than playing it at normal size?
