Actually I was only able to do that with my card because the source code of the driver is freely available, unlike most cards. :D

I believe every BT878 card supports both PAL and NTSC plus lots of other stuff. I was even able to hack the sources of the driver to make it support "PAL-M 50" that my VCR outputs from PAL tapes....
