Being the rookie that i am i did 2 movies at different resolutions 704*480 and 352*480 and tried to author but it wouldn't

do i need to do them over again

No you just need to use an authoring program that can handle multi-vts disc.

Dvdlab pro does (while dvd lab doesn't) and tmpgenc dvd author also.
