Hya,
Now Karl, you'll have to excuse me but I don't really understand weather charts .
So does that mean that you are still in danger of seeing a cyclone at PR or it means it was very close
but thankfully it's already gone
Hope it's the second one
Cheers

Actually, the hurricane is EAST of us right now
And the direction is west/west north west
Look at the red arrow, and the projected path.
If it does continue that path, it will pass around 175 miles north of Puerto Rico .
If you look at the bottom satellite picture, Puerto Rico is on the right, and to the left you see Dominican Republic, followed by Cuba.
And you already can see the outer clouds of the hurricane on the right

Man, I hate bad weather and I hate tornados/hurricanes (not that I get to see much here in Ptg ).
I promisse I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys.
Cheers

Wow, that's a huge MF!!!
And it's getting closer to the lesser antilles, already.
How's the weather like Karl?
You still can't see/feel it, can you.
Hope you're feeling better today.
Cheers

Hi Rui,

The weather here is just a little clowdy, but it's fine.
I assume in the next 24 hours or so, we'll start seeing some degradation on the weather, and maybe some rain from the outer bands flying away from the hurricane.
It's still far, but as you say, it's a big "Motha F*"!!!!
Look at the eye of that thing The more round, the faster it's going
As you can see, the satellite JPG image link I posted here updates almost every hour, so you'll be able to see where it's headed.

Hi,
How's it going big K?
Still no word from "Frances", the big Motha F*, I hope.
Is it me or is it even closer than it was when I woke up?
BTW did you write me something on TS2?
I didn't catch it 'cause I was kicked from it and I can't rejoin.
Cheers buddy

Yes, it is closer
But it looks like it's going to pass about 180 to 200 miles north of us.
Anyway, the tropical storm winds extend outwards 180 miles, so it seems we'll get some mild winds and maybe a lot of rain.
Here' s the latest report: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh.../301746.shtml?

PR has certianly been dodging a few bullets during this year's hurricane season. TS Gaston has just left the Carolina's and it got a bit wet here.

Its going to be interesting with Hurricane Frances. Last prediction was it will be a class 4 when it goes over the island's and then hits land.

Stay safe!

I have to say that the satellite picture looks pretty damn impressive..I sure wouldn't want to be under that bastard on any of those small Caribbean islands Thank God we only have the occasional blizzards in the winter here.

And who said that playing computer games isn't educational - I remember a lot of names and places from playing Pirates! a long time ago

No computers for me at that time

A little bit of rain shouldn't be worriying.
Let's see if the "little" SOB stays away.

Hi Jorel,

Yes, the forum went down twice yesterday
Maybe kvcd.net is just "too much" for the new hosting provider
Anyway, I'm keeping a log of all the faults, and I'm also reporting in their help desk all of these happenings.
They offer a 30 day customer satisfaction guarantee, and if in a three week time we get a lot of problems in this hosting, they have to return the money, and we will simply move to another hosting provider.
Hopefully, this won't happen, as it's quite a mess every time I have to move the forum

I had problems running the server version on FreeBSD.
I'm waiting for the final release of FreeBSD 5.3 in the next few days, and then I'll try it again.
Then it should never crash ( at least the server )

Hi jorel,

Seems our new provider is not what we thought it would be
Stay tuned, and always check www.kvcd.net for news, if the forum goes down.

Hello Karl:

I am getting a run time error, and it is asking me if I would like to debug. But I choose NO and the link connects. This happens everytime I try to read a post or change from one subject to another. This error only happens in this forum.

I am glad to know that the hurricane did not affect you at all.

Regards

Otto
