Hello everyone,
After serious and very hard thoughts, we have made some drastic decisions as to the future track on KVCD.Net.
Starting on November 1'st, we are going to start a forum cleanup.
There will be
no more DivX/XviD topics on this site, as this has caused KVCD's quality to be "questionable".
I should have done this a VERY long time ago, but due the preassure from many users, who asked not to stop DivX related topics, we just kept on adding more and more DivX threads, etc.
Until DivX (or other newer technologies) become more main stream, then we "might" reconsider. In the mean time, we will deal only with prime sources, such as personal DVD backups.
As Vinicius has told me that he wishes to start his own DIKO form, to support his users directly, the DIKO forum will be locked "Read Only", starting on November 8.
The forum will also be renamed to "DIKO - Unofficial Forum", with a big sticky post on the top of the forum, directing the users to visit the official site at
www.vmesquita.com.
On or about January 1'st, the DIKO forum will be deleted, leaving the original sticky, redirecting users to vmesquita's site.
Also, on November 1'st, we will start a massive cleanup on ALL forums, removing all DivX/XviD related threads.
The "AVI(DivX, XviD, MPEG-4) to KVCD/KDVD" will be renamed to something like "AVI(Lossless Captures, TV Shows) to KVCD/KDVD" or something like that, with a very clear sticky post related to NO DivX/XviD talks. This will help cleaning up some of the chaos that we are seeing on the forum, in the past weeks.
So in general, we are going back to the oiginal idea and goals of KVCD.Net, that it was supposed to be for high quality captures or DVD backups, and not from DivX, or second generation encodes to KVCD/KDVD.
Also, because of the support we are currently getting by new user registrations, this has motivated me to start sharpening up my development tools. So you'll be seeing more stuff in a while other than CalcuMatic, CQMatic, etc.
Change of moderators.
Starting today, Jorge and Phil will be the global moderators for all forum areas. Also, on the Portuguese forum, the following wil be the only moderators:
muaddib, jorel, dialhot
This will stop the current problems where some moderators don't agree between each other, and help stabilize the forum area.
Sorry if some of you don't agree with this, but it's our final decision, and it's for the best of this forum, and for the piece of mind of many.
Thanks,
-Karl
