Only two possibilities :
1/ your script is wrong
é/ you changed something on your PC

For both situations nobody can help you.

Hi WOWIEGURL
Always try to keep your system as simple as possible.
Don't install some software just because you're curious without making a proper backup of your windows system.
If WMP doesn't work, it's definitly because you installed something on it that also installs codecs (or that changes the codec tables in the registry).
Right now, you can try to:
1 - Download (and reinstall) Avisynth AVS v2.55 here.
2 - Download (and reinstall) XviD codec XviD-1.0.3-20122004 here.
3 - Download (and install) Media Player Classic (a WMP clone on steroids ) MPC v6.4.8.2 here.

First, see if reinstalling Avisynth cures the problem.
Second, see if reinstalling XviD solves the issue.
If not, try installing MPC, but chances are it won't work and you'll have to find out what the hell happened in your codec tables.
Try using GSPOT http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ to find out what the system is using to open your AVS scripts.
Cheers

Thanks rds_correia. I guess it was those windows updates that I was always clicking yes to. I'll format the computer and tell you if that does the trick.

By the way... what version of wmp are people using? like year of copyright from and to?

No one with good common sense use WMP.
Use a real player like zplayer or bsplayer (or even vlc).

Try the KVCD Player: http://www.kvcd.net/downloads/KVCDPlayer_English.exe
That will play .avs files just fine.

Congrats,
Thanks Danpos,

Well, that little player is not really 100% mine
It's about 80%, because I used a small framework from the samples of my development system, and I stripped out a lot and then added some of my touches.
It's not like CQMatic, CalcuMatic and other of my tools, which I coded completely.
But still, it's a handy little app, and I use it a lot too

BTW, here's the Spanish version I had done too:

I say, awesome!
Didn't know anything about the kvcd player too!
It IS LIGHT on resources

@Phil,
I've tried the zoomplayer light so many times, but it refuses to open the mpeg2 streams.
At their site they say it needs the 3rd party codecs but I can't find them anywhere on powerdvd/windvd sites.
Is there any other way to use it?
Because I really like it a lot but MPC plays all my files flawlessly and ZP doesn't
Can you give me a hand, since you're more into ZP?
TIA
Cheers

I wonder if I should open a small "KVCD Tools" section, and put all the collection there for visibility

Indeed, it's VERY light, and will open just about anything. Even MP3 music files

Indeed, you should open such a new forum section.
The downloads thread is also very deep inside the forum.
Not to mention that guides/tutors/etc are spread across all the forum sections.
They should be all in the same place with a full description of their aim
That would be a lot easier.
And don't forget the optimal scripts section
For a newbie it is very difficult to find all the needed information to get started.
Cheers

You should try the last zoomplay 4 then : it has an auto-load feature of missing codec. On first run, it analyses all format that it knows but can't play and ask you if you want to load the codec for each part.

I've tried version 4, and it sure asks about the missing codecs.
But where do I get those.
PowerDVD and WinDVD come with those.
But I can't find just the codecs to download.
Then what do I do?
TIA
Cheers

For each missing codec, you have to clic on the name and zoomplayer send you on inmatrix site where all instructions are given.
For MPEG2, this is the page that should be opened :
http://www.inmatrix.com/zplayer/formats/mpeg2.shtml

BTW, I didn't had problems with MPEG2 because I already had anything I need when I installed zoomplayer. I installed them with ACE Mega Codec Pack 5.93 (choose all ligos elements end remove all Elencard ones).

Hmmm
As one French guy I know once said me: don't ever install codec packs!
That's why I only install XviD and all works fine with MPC.
It's strange why other players need something else when MPC doesn't .
I'll give ZP a try again.
TIA
Cheers

The ACE pack is the only one that let you install or remove any codec you want. I never install all the codecs included in the pack , but I install all the codecs I need with this pack. You see the difference ?
(I just updated Xvid and Divx manually because the pack is quite old.)
Note: do not use a version of the Pack after the 5.93 : they changed the installer and it is not as convenient as it uses to be.

Mpc uses it's own librairy like vlc, doesn't it ?

Duly noted

Well, I really don't know
But you're probably right, otherwise WMP would pick the same codecs and play the files, right?

I do use MediaplayerClassic for all my stuff. Its nice and also gots a dropdown menue where you can see which filters are choosen. Also it come with its own decoder libraries which also can be turned off/on. Zoomplayer btw. gots a nice dshow codec management section where you can set the merits etc.
