Others DVDs were done with the same method ?
Did you change media brand or reference ?

Not all the media from a brand are equivalent.
Verbatim DVD-R 4x are very good but not Verbatim DVD-R 8x for instance.
And lot of brands have several references completly different (princo, budget...). That is why using only the same brand is not enought.

Okay, so you answered in an other (bad formated and that I removed) post that you use the same CDs.

What happens exactly when you put them in the standalones ? "not playable" covers a lot of situation.

it sounds like a matter in the burning process. Did you scan the surface with tools like the one in "Nero CD-DVD speed" ?

i've done the tests surface scan and cd speed - they both came out successful - i've reinstall winxp + dvdlab and tried again - but with the same results- my sa dvd is loading forever - and my pc is playing it with no problems.

both movies are pal and 704*576 resolution.
what do you say?

Try the old discs you did to see if they still play correctly on your SPA.
If yes, then the burner can be faluty (lens misalign ?). Else it's the SPA.
In both cases, get ready to buy a new one. Try to do a lens cleaning

my old cd's are playing ok in the sa - i dont think that the burner is the problem becuse its burning other cds fine and the dvd are playing in the pc - maybe you'r right but i would like to try burning with another software - can you recomend one?

DVDLab can burn itself. Or open the video_ts directory in DVDShrink and ask it to burn using DVDDecypter (not using Nero of course). Or do an iso with Nero but burn it with DVDDecrypter.

But do not use tools like ImgtoolBurn because it uses Nero API to burn so it's the same than using Nero.

Note: I already said that elsewhere but it's not surprising to have a disc that can be read on a PC and not on a SPA. The SPA reads a 1x, the PC at 5x or more. That means that the PC can retry to read the same part several time and finally manage to get it correctly. The SPA can't.

Sorry to bump in on the conversation but I thought I should give my oppinion.
Although Nero is know to have a great burning engine, it hasn't been very well rated latelly when compared with DVDDecrypter burning engine.
For instance take a look in here http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewt...226498#1226498
I have checked this out myself and I think that the results shown in that thread are truth although slightly different than the ones I got in my own tests.
If you are having second thoughts about Nero, give DVDDecrypter a chance.

It could end up prooving it's faster and that it has less problems during the burning process with you burner/media package.
Cheers

This summarize what was my idea in my previous post.
(note: personally I burn anything with Imgtool Burn, in other words with Nero).
