Hi!

I would like to know if all the information (sound and image) are transmited with the S-Video connectors or if its only video?

Thank you!

Steeve

Hi Steeve,

S-Video contains video signals only. No audio.

Thank you Kwag!

I have another question. If I connect my Hi8 Handycam camera to the VHS Video with composite RCA cable (video out to video in / audio out to audio in) and from the VHS video out I connect a coaxial cable to the capture card CABLE TV coaxial connector. Suposed to have sound connected this way? If yes, I don't! I tried to connect my speaker directly in the audio out of my capture card and doesn't work. I still only have video.

Thank you for the help!

Did you check the AUDIO out on your VHS, to see if you can hear the Hi8 audio there

Try a headphone there
The impedance of your speaker is low (8 ohms), and you probably can't hear a thing there, depending on the audio level of the audio out jack.
Try a set of headphones better.
Also, what capture card do you have

I found why I didn't have any sound. Its because I was thinking that audio is transfered via S-video too but S-video is only video.

I will need a RCA to stereo 3.5mm adapter because my capture card only have a 3.5mm stereo audio in and my camera have a RCA audio out. That should work!

Thank you!
