@All,

My system (W2K) has been running very smoothly and I was curious what
others use to keep their systems tuned. Here's my list of programs. Feel
free to make suggestions or comments:

1) Ad-aware SE

2) SpyBot

3) CCLeaner (crap cleaner)

4) EasyCleaner

5) RegScrubXP

6) MS Disk Defragmenter

7) NTREGOPT (registry optimizer)

I also use all these ones. Even if I find 3 and 4 redondant.
You should use a better defrag (the one I use is paying and I don't remember the name ).

And for registry cleaning, add this :

(the DL link is on the bottom right of the page).

Diskeeper...?
I use it and I'm very satisfied with this tool, it does the job very well, and you can set it to defragment your drives automatically as often as you want...
(sorry for the spelling errors...)

You don't need, just have to click on the DL link, that is the one on the bottom right as I told.
The tool itself is in english, don't worry.

@Phil,

"regcorr.exe" is very good at cleaning the dead regestry links. My
system runs even better now.

Thanx

Yes it is
The first time I launched it, it removed entries referencing KVCD I did 4 months ago ! .

I like also the treatment it does on the fonts present on the HD but not registered into windows (you can choose to erase them from the disk or register them automatically, see in the options).

Well is not really a "tool" but I think it is useful at least for security purposes:

http://www.autopatcher.com/

http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showforum=89

Autopatcher is a single pack containing "all" Windows/2000/XP/2003 fixes/security fixes. And it has some registry tweaks that may improve the speed of the system. It is updated every month! This way you can forget windows auto update and better: if you perform a full system format, you will have all the windows updates "already downloaded"

ps: Dialhot, feel free to move this post if it is too much "off-topic".
