Hello,

I have a quick question please. I have done a couple of KDVD's recently at different resolutions. The first was 2 films roughly 2hrs each at resolution 720x576. i then did another with 3 films at resolution 704x576 resized. Although both were good it started me thinking about Max films per disk.

Q. I was wondering if i resized to 1/2 DVD resolution i.e. 352x576 approxomitly how many movies at roughly 2hrs duration each could i expect to fit on an average 4.7GB DVD-R.

Thanks,
Blubear

352x576 = 202,752 pixels.
704x576 = 405,504 pixels.

So in theory, twice. In practice, it's less, because of the need to increase bitrate to compensate for the loss of the lower resolution.

AC3 5.1 audio, if you encode in MP2, you might be able to squeeze 3 movies.

Same as above, but change the 576 for 480 and the 288 for 240.
