Hello there!

It is only 10 minutes long, but is the first (I think) 100% "open-source" movie! It was made using 100% open-source software, Blender3d[ http://www.blender3d.org/ ], GIMP [ http://www.gimp.org/ ] and of course, Linux.

But it is not all... You can download the *entire* movie and believe-me: all project files! You can even "render" it at home if you wish. Of course, if you go to 1920x1080 as it is, we will need a powerful renderfarm to perform at least 1 frame at every 8 hours, as described on their official web site.

If you buy the DVD, you get all project files, extras like "making of" and helps supporting their work.

ps: the codec in the 1920x1080 HDTV one is Microsoft MPEG-4 V2 [ http://free-codecs.com/download/Micr..._VKI_Codec.htm ]. Use it if you want to open on Virtual Dub.

@sparkster

The movie is really cool! I did download the version 1024 because of my machine hasn't so much 'horsepower' for HD 1920 ...

The video codec for this version is OpenDivX which is rendered on VDM with XviD (I've set it up for decompress DIV5 content).

With regard on ED HD 1920 I don't think be necessary to use Microsoft MPEG4 proprietary codec since ffdshow can to be used for renders it through VFW codec configuration (or perhaps XviD itself)

See ya,
