Hello all!

Well. I know some SAP can handle .MPG (MPEG-2 video + MP2 audio) pretty fine(yes, no menu and no chapters that is what i want). The question is, most of them will do ?

Besides I am considering trying this muxer:

http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=ImagoMPEG-Muxer

Any suggestions ?

Unfortunatelly not. The problem is not in the file format, but in the file system : the SAP has to handle data DVD format and not only the general video DVD format.

Most of player will return "not readable disc" if you introduce a DVD media burnt as data.

Thanks Phil.

When you refer to DVD Format you are talking about UDF File System or the entire DVD structure (VIDEO_TS, etc) ?

ImgBurn can burn using UDF File System along with ISO:

Is that not enough ?

I'm not exactly sure if this has something to do with UDF but btw data DVD are ISO9600. But that's the idea, yeah. May be it's linked to the VIDEO_TS structure also, I don't know. What is sure is the result : "not readable disc..."

In the VideoHelp list of DVD players,

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

Look for the "MPEGISO" feature. Players with this feature can play a .MPG file in a data disc.

I have a Philco player that can handle this, and a JVC that can't.

But note that with a .MPG file in a CD/DVD data disc, even if your player can play it, you'll problably lose all navigation resources like chapters, angles, ff and rw, etc. You'll problably also lose subtitles, multiple languages etc. You may also experience some problems with aspect ratio.

Good advice !
I can see that 72% of the player can handle MPEGISO, that is more than I expected (and 83% for DVD-MPEGISO).

Curious thing, my Philco that can play MPEGISO can't play MPEGISO on DVD (only on CD), and can't play mp3 on DVD. The JVC that can't play MPEGISO otoh can play mp3 on DVD.
