until phil adds this option to hcmatic, you can use this external application:
http://www.aumha.org/downloads/shutdown.zip

just add one of these lines to your .bat file

usage:
shutdown -u -t 0 for shutdown
shutdown -r -t 0 for restart
shutdown -h -t 0 for hibernate


haven't actually tried this myself but lets hope it'll work

edit: ok, just found out there's also a bit easier way. just add *SHUTDOWN to the last .ini file listed in .bat file.

How did you know that this is one of the things on my TODO list ? .

Note: shutdown is standard with winXP, but thank you for your link, I was missing it for my win2000k laptop.

I read somewhere that especially in XP there is some problems with internal shutdown command.. it only shuts down windows but not the computer.

Actually I have this problem on win2000 when I use the "*SHUTDOWN" parameter of HCenc. Windows and M$ is full of suprise

Phil,

Check the sources on CQMatic and/or CalcuMatic, because I believe I already had the code in there for the shutdown process. It's just commented out

And BTW, congrats on your new tool
