I just purchased Open Season, and decided I would make a KDVD backup like I do with all of my new movies. Well after about 3 hours of trying, I wasn't able to get the VOB onto the hard drive. So I gave up for the time being, and went over to watch it.

This movie will not play on my DVD player, straight out of the box. It actually turns my DVD player off. And for a control test, I tested 3 other Sony DVD's, they all work fine. Now, I don't have an old DVD player, it's fairly new. It's a Harman/Kardon DVD 101.

Now my question is, did Sony, and their illustrious copy protection, go too far this time and actually make it so protected, that my DVD player doesn't even recognize this as a DVD?

Has anyone else had this problem?
