@All,

Just downloaded the iso of PCLOS TR3 and tried the distro. WOW!!!
This is by far the easiest install of Linux I seen so far. It comes bundled
with with Firefox, OpenOffice, and more. I'm getting closer to leaving
M$ Windows and moving to Linux. Has anyone tried PCLinuxOS

I use tr1 on my laptop at the moment. I have been using it since .93a and I have enjoyed the tr so far. I love the install process, where it automatically brings up ndiswrapper if you need it. Im a gnome fan but KDE is growing on me.

I've been using Foresight Linux on my PC almost exclusively, and I love it
http://www.foresightlinux.com
It's based on rPath modular architecture. Read about it here: http://www.rpath.com
Although I believe Ubuntu is about to make a huge leap on April, when version 7.x is released, I think I'll stick to Foresight, becausel I love the package management system (Conary), which I believe is far more advanced than any other package manager currently available. That includes apt-get, yum, and even FreeBSD "ports" mechanism.
Read about Conary here: http://wiki.rpath.com/wiki/Conary:Concepts

Note: Foresight is a GNOME based desktop, so if you want KDE, then Foresight is not for you!
However, if you want a system that hardly breaks, even when doing: sudo conary updateall, which updates ALL the system and binaries, then Foresight might be just for you
After installation, Foresight leaves you with a beautiful Desktop, ready with most office utilities, full wireless support, sound and excelent eye candy (Compiz, and Beryl available as a package)
Give it a try

Thanks Kwag. One thing about linux is that there is so many good distros. I feel i have been one of those distro hoppers since my introduction to linux. I have really enjoyed the ride thus far but i am definitely going to check out your suggestion kwag. Cause i do have a inspiron 8200 that simply hates some distros like pclinuxos, but deals with ubuntu fairly well. But i like to diversify my linux experience and thus far have 5 distros installed on 4 computers at my home. So i will check this out tomorrow or this weekend.

I'm running OpenSuse 10.2 right now, after have used Ubuntu for a while. I've to say that it's working like a charm, the administrative tools are great and the package's management is very interesting, where the usage of 'patches' and 'deltas' improve and optimize the update of system.

Regards,
