hello,

is there a way to add some volume to audio tracks via avisynth script? i found this http://avisynth.org/Normalize but not sure if is the best. Maybe a external plugin works better?

I don't know about audio managemetn in avisynth as it is mostly a frame server (dedicated to image so). But your question suggest that you are encoding audio directly with the tool that encodes also the video. What is it ? It should have a "normalize" feature too.

megui is a front to mencoder, isn't it ? If yes, you didn't choose the best mpeg2 encoder. But may be you don't have choice (Linux ?).
In this case, I think that Normalise is a good choice. The only drawback it has is that I don't think it can do more than stereo, if either you would like to do KDVD with 5.1 ac3.
