whats the best settings for a captured 32mins 640 X 480 avi file to convert to mpg with the smallest possible file size whilst keeping the quality?? The current size for the capture is 3.08gb because I used the M-JPEG codec.

which settings did u use with your mjpeg capture?
off hand, i'd say a kvcd 1- run through fitCD, at 352x240, with quality of around 85 or higher. <-- without knowing more on the other settings....
