sup fellas/ladies. I know this is a newbie question but i need your help,.. am making Vcd with my 7500 ATi AIW that comes out pretty good considering i dont even encode them after capture,.. my question is whats the best setting for capturing kvcd mpeg video from my ati card, what res, frame rate, should i use to capture before encode with TMPGenc and kvcd settings.

res 352x240
frame 1.5mb
mpeg 1
what should I change to get a better video and still burn to cdr, I have a dvd burnner so thats a option too,... i havent burned to vcd to dvd before so it'll be new to me...

Hi sonspot,

Try to capture at least at 352x480 if you plan to encode to 352x240.
If you are going to encode with a higher resolution template, like KVCDx3 528x480, then capture at least 640x480.

You mean the bit rate
Use the highest you can. If you can go higher than 2.5Mbps, do it. If you can do ~5Mbps, better

I too have an ATI 7500 AIW

if your machine can handle it read on further in this thread or click on this link(still in this thread)

I made a new copy of the DVD capture preset in ATI custom menu, suggested by el mero zooter. For my machine it works great.
