i don't know if this is a problem or not, but i just played a sample i recently encoded with Tok on my tv and it looked a lot worse than it did when i played it on my computer.

isn't it supposed to be the other way around

hey kwag,

my resolution was 528x480 - PAL, but my tv can play ntsc resolutions

my cq was about 51.2, movie length was just under 2 hours

If your player and TV can play NTSC, did you also encode at 23.976fps instead of 25fps

Well, if you encode at 23.976fps, you're going to get a higher CQ, and better quality
Try a small clip first to see if 23.976fps plays smoothly

yes! my tv plays 23.976 smoothly, and now i get a higher cq and better quality

i never guessed that a small change like that could do so much
