hi, I'm using the latest beta version of besweet and had a question about normalizing. It seems like there are multiple places in the besweetgui to set this and I just wanted to know which one I should use. On the main screen you can click on PreGain and then set Normalize to 100%. You can also set manual gain to 0db, but I don't know which is better! Then on Azid 1 you can also set normalize to 100%. So which should I use? So confused!

J-Wo my friend,
i read another posts that you got problems with
headac3he and i sometimes got it too.
sometimes,when i convert from ac3 to wave
and convert this wave to mp2,headac3 see the file as corrupt!

don't know why it happen.
but believe me,if you encode with headac3
the sound is better than bsweet.
in this situations i use besweet.

in besweet the best normalization that i got was using
normalize to xx% !
i don't like to use 100% cos sometimes the sound "clips".
for me the ideal is 97% but nothing is better than test little samples.

ps:

use besweetgui, turn besweet very easy to use.

damn is that true guys? is sound in headac3he truly better than besweet? I just find it more of a cumbersome program. I hate how you have no idea where you are in the encoding process, because it doesn't show you a timestamp or anything. Sometimes it just sits there and looks like it's doing nothing. Besweet seems way faster. And again, if I run headache then tmpgenc crawls to a halt. If I lower the priority on headac3he, then it NEVER finishes!!!

Is there no way to change the settings in besweet to make it sound as good as headac3he?

Headac3h uses mp2enc, old versions of Besweet used toolame.

Newer versions of Besweet can use toolame or mp2enc, as you wish, so with the right settings both should sound identical.
