I want to create a kvcd of The Two Towers on two discs.. I have the vobs on my machine and have the video split at the right points and everything, but need to split the audio for each half.. I want to use HeadAC3he to encode the AC3 to MP2 using DPL2... how??

so use dvd2avi to create two seperate .d2v's? but this method, you can't do frame by frame to choose a cutting point (the cut will be imperfect and lame ).. when using the left/right arrows to search through the film, it skips like three frames at a time or something...?

you don't read the details posted there!

you don't select the cutting point in dvd2avi.
dvdfab will divide your dvd in 2 parts (or more)
and you choose in what position (chapter) it will divide!
then you make a dvd2avi project to each part
fading the end of the first part and the begining of the second part.
you don't loose anything!
perfect transitions, fading with "good taste", perfect division for each cd,
original chapters using vcdeasy and with professional appearance!

i only encode my musicals in 2 cds like posted!
big quality in audio/video,soft transitions from cd to cd and with original chapters.

read the link again in "slow motion", works very fine.

yeah i saw that, but the problem is that i don't have the dvd anymore -- just the vob's.. will dvdfab work with just the vobs?

So this raises another question then..

DVDFab will open VOB's on the HD with a VIDEO_TS.IFO file.. what if the DVD comes on two discs or two sides? If I wanted to, say, cut out the credits and split somewhere else (like if the first DVD has 1:30:00 and the second has 1:00:00 and I want to cut 15 minutes from the 2nd one, so split at 1:15:00), how would I do this..?

EDIT: If I encode the AC3's into WAV's in Dolby Pro-Logic II using HeadAC3he, AudioDub these into my script then using WavSource then use the script to split the movie (using Trim), then extract each half's WAV and encode these to MP2 in Stereo, would it preserve the DPL2 encoding?
