Anyone here have a Pioneer DV-440 and if so do you have problems with audio being slightly choppy?

Try muxing and burning as SVCD. Works on my DV-343 like a charm.

Boulder, do you mean muxing as SVCD like in Bbmpeg? Then maybe you'd advise skipping making the burn image in VCD Easy and burning the mpeg in Nero, as SVCD though?
I usually encode as mpeg1 (either 544x480 or 704x480), use BBmpeg, VCD Easy and then burn the image in Nero. Sometimes I get audio pop/chop on my Pioneer 533.

Yes, mux in bbMPEG and use the SVCD settings. I also put '0' in the forced mux rate box. Then make an SVCD image in VCDEasy and burn the image with any program you like.

i use TMPGenc to MUX as an SVCD, and just burn with nero (dont make an image with VCD Easy first) and it works fine now.

i'm having a new problem with this player, i tried to make a KVCD out of a video that was 16:9 and the player didnt seem to like it, garbled the picture for about a minute and then picture froze alltogether (sound was fine). when i use 4:3 videos i have no problems. Any idea on how i can fix this?

KVCDs should be 4:3 so you'll have to add borders and encode as 4:3.

Well, this forum has a couple of guides at the top of the page, see if they help you.
