Just got the latest Radio Shack Canada flyer.

They list 3 cheap DVD Players:

1. Nexxtec ??? $69.99 (1611000)

2. a non-named brand on the cover for $79.99 (1611004 or 1611005)

3. a non named slim line brand for $99.99 (1611302)

any ideas on quality?

Hi Guys, just got back from my local Radioshack(canada)and now they have a cyberhome ch dvd 300 ,the only thing is that its small(its probably only about 1o inches wide) and not like the ones you guys have posted before.

I had a recent problem with norcent 300 changing the firmware on there machines but keeping the same model number, does anyone know if this cyberhome should be ok,its 79 bucks but in Canada thtas not bad

well all cyberhome players on the compatibilty list are able to play 352x240,kvcdx3,and 704x480 so the one you are talking about can probably play those too.

Hey bigggt,

Please share your results if/when you put the CH DVD 320 through the rigors of KVCD testing.

Hey D&C

I called Target(where i originally saw the dvd player)to see if they had anymore yet and they told me it was just promotional product thay had for 2 days and they won't be getting anymore in ,so i think i will go to radioshack here in Canada and buy the cyberhome 300 for 79 bucks.

On a side not someone on vcdhelp.com says that they bought the 320 and it plays kvcd.

Thanks for the tips bigggt. Darn! I guess I probably should've swarmed through the crowds at Target on "black friday" to buy a CH-320. Oh well. Maybe I'm lucky and they've still got some in stock around here. Looks like a nice little compact player (and hopefully with the same features as the oft-mentioned 300 model).

Cheers,
-d&c

I just got one of these myself (Target, $50, not on sale, probably got ripped a bit but it was still the cheapest thing there :/ ), and I just have to add another positive review to the mix here. It's smaller - about the width and depth of my CD binder - and played all of the clips on the test KVCD that I burned from a link (to a CD image) somewhere else on this site, so it's compatible with all the standards. For video geeks, it also does progressive scan (which I admit I know next to nothing about, but I thought I'd throw that in ).
