Oops...I didn't even think of the exchange rate!
I guess $38 US sounds about right then for a dvd-rom drive. Still, I do know I've seen a couple sales in the past where some cheapie no-name dvd-roms have been only $10 or even $0 after rebates, so maybe bigggt can get lucky if he keeps his eyes open for awhile.
You wouldn't happen to be near the border by any chance, would you bigggt?
OfficeMax has an 8x DVD+RW burner on sale this week for $69.99 after rebates. I think that's the lowest price I've seen so far for an 8x dvd burner (although I'm personally still planning on waiting for them to reach current 52x cdrw prices before buying one, which would mean $0 - $30 after rebates...so I've got a bit more waiting to do
). But if you're willing to pay ~$50CDN for an ordinary dvd-rom drive, then ~$90CDN for an 8x dvd
burner doesn't seem like such a far leap. Just a thought.
