I read something about being able to burn data using mode2. (which i guess is the mode vcd/svcd uses). I was wondering if i could burn my data in this mode. In dvdrhelp.com they had an article on 'data capacity of CD's, and said that this mode doesn't require the robust error correction that data needs, so this mean data burnt on this isn't as reliable as the normal data format? (what is it called?).

If it was to work, would it still function exactly like the normal data format?

Thanks

For sure not !
What do you thing the 100 Mb difference between the two format is ?
It is actually the space used for the error correction protocol.

You can have both (error correction and extra storage space).
