Hi, in the compatibility chart that player plays KVCDx3, but my results show that only plays KVCDx3 encoded as MPEG-2, not working for MPEG-1.

Has anybody played KVCDx3 MPEG-1 well?
What settings?

You should know that some Cyberhome Models are very sensible according to min Bitrate in case of VBR encodings!

So maybe the one stream got padding in TmpgEnc enabled and the other stream not.

But you should build your own Compatib.Disk Image by encoding some identical source 1 minute clips based on diff. resolutions and also these diff res. in diff min Bitrate settings and padding on/off.

This would end up in 20-30 muxed clips, very easy to author using VCDeasy or Nero, so u can choose via menu the one to test and know which one u are testing as the disk then got many streams

I made a lot of encodes with padding/no padding, etc. With KVCDx2 (MPEG-1) the video plays ok, the problem is KVCDx3. If the video source is 4:3 (no black bands), when i encode it with KVCDx3 MPEG-1, the player plays it ok, but if the source is 16:9 the video plays very bad, with a lot of macroblocks. With MPEG-2 all resolutions went ok.

Any idea?

To me that doesn't sound logic as we do encode all our KVCDs at 4:3 means not anamorph (well its highly recommended). So for the player its not a matter if that final on Tvset 4:3!! played movie does contain letterboxed bars out of a 1.85:1 (means 1.85:1 WITHIN the 4:3!)movie or if its a full screen where the 4:3 proportion is full of effective movie pixels.
