Removing Subtitles from video?

I have two skvcd's that came with subtitles and I was wondering what I have to do (if anything) to remove them because I don't even know what language they're in!

Thanks

Selectable subtitles or encoded ones (put onto the picture) ?

good question..I've never dealt with subtitles before so I'm not sure...

I haven't burnt them to disk yet... is there a way to check if they are selectable using WINDVD

As WINDVD does not handle selectable subs on a SVCD... you have you answer.

So there is not mean to remove them. It's like trying to remove all blue cars on the screen because you don't like blue cars.

You could always try Adobe Premier but I doubt you could reach the end of the movie in your lifetime even if the movie has very few blue cars.
That's how dificult it is...
Just kidding ;-) (sorry Phil  )
Cheers

Thanks for the input. I'll just have to suffer!

Depending on where the sub is positioned, you can always cut it away...

It would be a theoretical way if subtitles was over black bars. If you could add selectables subtitles with a black background, you can make a subtitles file without letters but only with a black background. With this you will not reencode the picture. Only it needs multiplex subtitles with your mpeg file.
