That's just not accurate.
Verbatim blanks are made with entirely different materials and processes (Mitsubishi specs) than TDK discs (Ritek or CMC specs). It's more complicated, so...

Don't get duped by the myth of "all discs are the same".
If the IDs are not the same, the discs are not the same. Period.
Most people with "electronics knowledge" are not aware of the manufacturing and hidden business aspects (product re-branding). That's simply outside their level of expertise.
