Why are my DVD drives not detected?
My DVD player and DVD burner are no longer showing up in My Computer. I went to Device Manager and right clicked on each drive and I got this message on both of them:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)" How do I get my DVD drives to show up in My Computer again? The drives still open and close. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. |
I have had this problem before in the past myself. Luckily there is an easy fix from Microsoft for this.

Thank you but the drives are being detected now. I don't know what happened but the drives showed up in My Computer on their own.
