My DVD player and DVD burner are no longer showing up in My Computer. I went to Device Manager and right clicked on each drive and I got this message on both of them:

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"

How do I get my DVD drives to show up in My Computer again? The drives still open and close. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I have had this problem before in the past myself. Luckily there is an easy fix from Microsoft for this.

Hope this helps,

Thank you but the drives are being detected now. I don't know what happened but the drives showed up in My Computer on their own.
