Multi bay external hard drive enclosures
I have quite a collection of hard drives, with their separate cords for power, & usb cables all over my desk.
so I looked at those enclosures that can take more than 1 hard drive. I have some questions about them, can I power up just the hard drives i am going to use? say just #s 1 & 2, or do I have to have them all powered up at once? I dont want to do raid or anything just yet, just have my different hard drives in a more compact unit with a single power & usb firewire thunderbolt cords. hot swappable, where I can easily take hard drives in & out of it. I am in the $80.00 to $300.00 range, some of them are quite expensive. something that will grow and accommodate bigger capacity hard drives in the future. |
I haven't seen any multi-bay enclosures that let you select which disk is on/off.
The best that I have found for a good price is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817998053 Hope this helps. -JMP |
