I have a loaded question and it may not be simple to answer but thought I would give it a shot.

I am new to video capture and but trying to learn quickly. I just purchased a new desktop that was advertised as a “video editing” computer. I am not a hardware person so it sounded like a good deal. Maybe a bit pricey. So here is the machine I bought…

http://www.amazon.com/CPU-Solutions-...ilpage_o01_s00

I have a Panasonic Ag1980 – TBC1000 – Elite BVP – USB capture (I have Elgato and Roxio). I don’t like the software with the 2 USB captures so I am learning VirtualDub and I also have AVS4YOU I use some.

If I plug all this into either one of my laptops, I can transfer with no issue in any of the 4 software options listed above. However, when I plug this into my new desktop machine, I can capture video but not the audio. I have been chatting with customer service but so far I cannot get the audio issue fixed.

Based on the brief description of my new computer above, can anyone tell if this is a setting issue or did I buy an expensive computer that does not have the capability I need for capturing. I am so ready to box this up and send back but wanted to give this option a shot first.

Thanks for any advice!
