_______

I generally prefer much higher end audio quality, but some people simply want "good enough" conversions for listening to in the car or on an iPod -- something that doesn't have the speaker power or DAC quality to bring out high quality in music anyway. So this fits the bill.

Ceramic stylus scares me.

Ion PowerPlay LP ($40 on most sites like J&R, B&H, Tiger Direct, etc.) looks like a better pick in the price range.

I didn't think the Ion was really any better. What am I missing? I thought it, too, was a cheap ceramic kit.

Nothing I've found said it's ceramic (and I couldn't tell myself from a photo of the stylus). At the very least, I'd have more piece of mind with Ion/Numark at this low level anyway as I've gotten good customer service from them.
