Stablehost is easily one of the best hosts these days, for shared Linux hosting. In addition to amazing prices, they're running a very high-end network and server setup: CloudLinux, LiteSpeed, etc. You're passing up an excellent premium-grade provider.

but I was really turned off by their sign up page - it's a list of the names of their plans (just the names) and pricing. That's it. So... what do I get for each plan? I couldn't even believe it. If they're reading this, how about some descriptive info? Or any info? Like disk space and bw?

When you click "
Sign Up Now", you go to the shopping cart, which lacks the details on what each plan providers. You make a good point, and I'll mention it to the owner. (After you use a host for several years, you get to know techs/staff pretty well. Any time I see typos, mistakes, code errors, etc, I'll drop them a quick note.)
However, if you go to the
"Web Hosting" link at the top of any page of
www.stablehost.com, it takes you to a page that details what each plan providers, along with details on optional add-on features, their network, etc.
I'll suggest a link be included on the shopping cart, for "More plan details..." Would you agree? Does that sound like it would fix the issue?

Maybe in the future I'll check them again. I'm adding my smaller sites to various separate shared hosts, but for now it's a pass.

Definitely keep Stablehost on the list.
To flesh out your hosting options, look at the hosts we suggest here:

If you want quality low-cost hosts, grab one account each from
Then if you still need more:
I use (or have used) each of these hosts, because I also like to spread around my assets. I was setting up new sites at SpeedySparrow and Stablehost this morning, in fact!
My most important sites are with EuroVPS and Stablehost, because they've proven themselves as extremely trustworthy hosts. So again, I would urge you not to overlook them. You're missing out.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll be sure to pass this along, and maybe they'll fix it.
