Hi all,

I'm looking to burn quite a number of both single and dual-layer DVD+Rs for a project and currently use an LG-GE24NU40 with my PC.

http://www.amazon.com/LG-GE24NU40-Su.../dp/B00C4401UO

I originally bought it to rip DVDs and CDs (the internal drive doesn't work too well) but would like to consider other options, if there are any, for burning. I looked at both Pioneer and Sony, but their external drives all seem to be slim now. The LG looks like the only full-sized external drive made today. I plan on using good media, so that won't be an issue, but should I go forward with the LG? I know it's not traditionally rated well, but I understand it's not as bad as it used to be. Thoughts?

Is the "OEM bare drive" the internal drive only, or the enclosure version? If the latter, get it while it's available for under $50. It should burn good at 8x, maybe 12x. I have one of the internal sibling models, and it's a great reader, not too shabby for a burner.

Since there's only 2 left in stock (1 from each seller, one of them Amazon), act fast.

It looks like "OEM" is how they identify it without the extra material. Either way, the model is an external drive only. And I already have it. Thanks LS!
