Buying a video camera for recording interviews?

Good day everbody.

Planning to record video interviews for about 1 hour each, recorded digitally and uploaded to website. I need your kind help recommending fair hardware : video cam, stand, light and disk storage etc.

Thanks.

Welcome to the site. I'll be glad to assist you further. :)

What sort of budget do you have available?
I can recommend a lot of nice gear, but there's no point in doing so if it's outside the affordable range for you.

And I assume this means you want to record it, edit it, and then upload it after the fact, right?
Not live streaming, where it's online the moment it's recorded. Please confirm.

Thanks.

No problem, I can pay for what I need and MUST pay for it.

Any cameras would work for mere interviews.

Having a tripod and good audio is more important. Get mics for audio. Any type is fine, and the best quality that can be afforded.

In 2012, choices were fewer and more expensive.
In 2018, DSLRs are a favorite of most.
