Auto vs Manual settings with camcorder? Green screen shadows!
 

Do you deal with video shooting, I would imagine you do.
I put up a few threads and nobody is responding.

I have the new Sony HDR 560 CV that shoots in avhdc. (might be wrong codec spelling)

I trying to shoot a dark subject indoors with a green screen background. I have to back light for no shadows. No matter how much light I put on the subject (a puppet) it looks dark.

I'm using auto settings. Could that be messing me up. Should I go into Manuel settings and is there a preset for indoors and is using a green screen adding more issues. I know there is infomation on the instruction Manuel, but nothing about using a green screen backdrop that has to be lit to avoid shadows when the subject is moving.

I know this may not be your cup of tea but perhaps you could point me to where I could find out.

I've put up a post here and on creative cow under the camcorder forum. But not one response. Please Help.....and thanks for your past help.

It may be an issue of needing to light the screen better, and being far enough away from it to not cast shadows.

I've been in studios -- essentially large boring warehouse-like buildings -- and the backdrops are far away from the actors.
I've shot still images on white and blue screens, and it's all about lighting and distance.
