I have 4 of the units from
eBay -- 1 for each TV in the house, including the kitchen, so I can watch TV while I cook.
Roku has always had issues. I've avoided them.
The WD boots slow, but I'm not impatient. It takes maybe a minute at most. After that, it's fast until turned back off.
And every now and then, it forgets the network connection when first turned on. So you have to unplug it, and then wait another minute for it to boot. But it's always fine afterwards. And not all units do that, as only 2 of the 4 ever have that problem. It may be my wireless coverage in those rooms, not the box's fault.
I use the WDTV for MP4, MKV, AVI, and DVD ISO.
