Is the VHS to DVD dubbing quality of the JVC DR-M5V good, or should one instead use one of your recommended JVC TBC SVHS machines with the DVD section?

The DR-M5V is the same lineage as the DR-M10S, DR-M100S, DR-M1V and some others. And those are recommended models that use the LSI Logic chip. We've talked about it on other threads on the forum.
