Hi all,

First post here, but I have been using this website recently as it is an amazing resource. I need to convert some old home movies which have a bit of horizontal alignment issues. I understand (from this website) that a VHS player with TBC would likely help.

I have the opportunity to buy a Marantz MV5100 and I was wondering if this is up to the task. I've seen a few places which claim it is a JVC 9000 clone (which sounds awesome), but haven't been able to corroborate that elsewhere. So basically my question is A) is this a good player? B) does it have TBC? and C) what would be considered a "good price"?

Thanks all!

This unit doesn't appear to have the Digipure/TBC system that the JVC units came with. The manual makes no mention of it and the menu options aren't there.

Thanks for the info and clearing this up. I got the info from a marketplace post on this website, but it appears the description may not be 100% accurate (not to say it isn't a great VHS player regardless). Link for your reference:
