Asking $300 plus shipping, ask if questions.

This is professional broadcast gear, not some piece of junk that would have ever been found at Best Buy or other consumer stores.

The 9911 is often consider the last good machine from the entire 7000-, 9000- or SR-series S-VHS professional VCRs.

Get the most out of your tapes with this deck.

This is a deck that was used for a few tiny projects (less than 100 tapes in all), and then never again. I already have three decks (two workers and a backup), don't really need a 4th one.

Get it while you can!

If you buy this VCR, I'll give you a free Premium Member account on digitalFAQ.com forums, a $20 value.

I'll also toss in one free video conversion/restoration, if you run into a tape that it does not like to play.

To sweeten the deal.

It has not been sold yet, no, it is still available. For whatever reason, gpavlin has not replied yet.

Only a PAL VCR (from Europe or Asia) will play PAL tapes. This is not a PAL VCR. This is an NTSC VCR, made to play tapes from North America (USA, Canada, Mexico)

I have a pal player that plays both, but I wasnt sure about ntsc players.. if any at all takes both. Do you know how much it would be to ship to Norway?

PAL players only play a quasi signal from NTSC tapes, PAL-60, it's not a true NTSC output. To get true NTSC output (which is required for video capture), you'll need an NTSC VCR.

Shipping from USA to Norway (or anywhere else in Europe) is going to run about $100 USD.

I would also highly suggest the available timebase corrector (TBC) and detailer, they are excellent companions to high-end VCRs for truly amazing quality conversion work.

I thought the VCR had built in TBC? I was thinking about combining a good SVHS vcr with a Canopus ADVC55 and perhaps maybe a detailer (dont know how much difference that makes?). And I'm on a budget so I cant spend as much as I might have liked

Yes, it does have a built-in line TBC, which exists to "clean the image quality" of a video tape.

The other TBC, an external unit, is useful for "cleaning the signal quality", it does not clean or alter the image quality in any way. It's useful for stabilizing the signal between certain analog and digital devices. If you are using an Canopus ADVC55, the external TBC may not be needed, as the Canopus devices tend to ignore signal problems found on the tape.

If you're wanting a good VCR that will play a tape nicely, and maybe even clean up the image quality, then this is the perfect machine. It will help you create DVDs (or other digital video formats) that would look better than the source VHS tape did, due to its filtering abilities.

I am only going to use it to convert old tapes, some with crappy quality. Would the Detailer you have make much difference? Have to admit I dont really know that much about it and what it does. I'm guessing it would go between the VCR and the ADVC55? If I get both, could you give me a good price? I know its not your problem, but the shipping costs would be cutting into my budget

It sounds like a good VCR would be helpful to you, I've converted many crappy-quality VHS and S-VHS tapes to nice DVDs on my own JVC decks (the ones I'm keeping, not selling).

The detailer is helpful at de-blurring (sharpening) old VHS tapes, to make it look more like a higher-resolution DVD, and less like a murky old video tape. Its so lightweight that it would not affect shipping costs very much, maybe another $5 at most.

I'll see what I can do on the numbers, maybe shave a few dollars.
