I have lots of VCR's and related equipment to get rid of. Some good stuff, and some junk.

100% Working/Good Condition Items
  • Samsung SV-5000W Worldwide VCR with Remote - $125 SOLD
  • Vidicraft Detailer II - Video Detailer / Enhancer - $25 SOLD
  • Panasonic AG-7650 Broadcast S-VHS VCR - $70 SOLD
  • Mitsubishi HS-U448 VCR - $40 SOLD
  • NovaTrol Novamate 2 Full-Frame Time Base Corrector / Frame Sync - $50 SOLD
Items with issues/not completely working (as described)
  • JVC BR-S378U Professional S-VHS VCR - Won't play audio on mono tapes. Won't accept signal on any A/V inputs. Playback works just fine on all (non-mono) tapes though. - $110
  • Sony XV-C900 - Works, but noise on screen when you turn hue and gamma knobs. This noise settles out quickly, though. Broken off fade slider, but still works with stub. S-Video ints/outs - $40 SOLD
  • AG-1340 Pro Line VCR - Plays back just fine, but won't record. The little lever that gets pushed in when the record tab is present doesn't make contact correctly, so the VCR always thinks the tape is record-protected. Too lazy to fix this, but it wouldn't be hard. Very solid transport in this machine, great picture controls - $25
Stuff no one on DigitalFAQ Probably Wants!
  • Toshiba W607 VCR - Works Fine - $12 SOLD
  • Toshiba W603 VCR - Works Fine - $12
  • JVC HR-S4800U - Accepts tape but then shuts off. Must unplug and plug back in to get it to eject tape. - $5
  • JVC HR-S5901U - Plays tape, but never tracks correctly. Continuously tries to track but never quite gets there - $5
  • Complete tape transport assembly for HR-S5901U - this works fine, I tested it in a 5901U chassis. - $5

Email me at jbd5010@gmail.com or send a PM on here. Thanks! -Jim

There are uses for the Toshiba VHS VCRs.
None of the "broken" gear looks overly bad, either -- seems reasonably fine.
I wouldn't mind buying another TBC -- too bad that Nova is so giant. I'll just go for a $200 CTB-100.

The Samsung and Vidicraft are good deals.

This might be a dumb question... how do I edit posts on here? I don't see an edit link/button for individual posts...

EDIT: Okay, well on THIS one I see it, but for some reason I don't think I have access to edit admin-approved posts.

Those aren't the 6-head Toshibas, are they?
The 5901 may simply need adjustments to the guides. Use your fingers.

Nope, just 4-head Toshibas. I do have a 6-head W-754, but I haven't gotten to try it out very much yet.

I'll see what i can do with the 5901 as far as adjusting the guides, thanks for the idea.
