This is a great unit for color correction; it also includes a chroma noise reduction filter.

I got this unit second hand. All of the functions work, however it has the following issues:

- Noise occurs when you turn the Chroma knob, and picture flickers for a second or two afterwards, but then it settles out.

- Hue knob seems a bit touchy, sometimes you have to mess with it to get it to the setting you want.

- Fader slider is broken off. You can stick something in the slot and push the remaining stub up and down, though, and the fader works. Most people in this forum probably aren't interested in broadcast features like wipes/fades anyway.

Both of the potentiometers for Chroma and Hue are still available from places like Encompass parts for around $10 each. You may want to replace them, or just take some extra time to fidget with the adjustments

Everything else works great.

Because it's not 100% perfect, I'm only looking to get $40 obo for it. You could get it working perfectly for probably less than an additional $30 in parts and if you know how to use a soldering iron to replace pots. Here's the service manual:http://www.freeservicemanuals.info/download/?sm=819115

The thing does weigh 17 lbs and is about 18" x 17" x5", so factor that in for shipping.

Thanks,
Jim

You really should list all those other VCRs and things from the craigslist ad.
The JVC BR-S378, for example, is not a bad price for a decent VCR (assuming you have non-mono tapes).

Just a thought.

I'm replying from my phone so for now I'll just post the link . I'm busy/disorganized lately so I didn't get around to posting on here, too.

Anyone contemplating buying this unit--I have an offer on eBay. Of course, I'd rather sell privately on here and avoid paying eBay fees, so I'm going to wait 24 hours before I accept the offer.

Act now!
